Welcome to Sun Valley High School

Sun Valley High School is a small school with a dedicated faculty and staff focused on creating college and career ready students.  Sun Valley High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 400 student’s grades 9-12.  We are on a semester basis which allows students a longer time to truly learn and understand the material.

Sun Valley High School provides programs to assist all students to be successful and reach their potential such as AP/Honors and career and technical education (CTE) courses.  Sun Valley provides services to students with disabilities, as dictated by each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).  English learners are provided with intensive language support and have a Bilingual Coordinator that maintains records and tracks student achievement.

Sun Valley High School has formed partnerships with Educare and Penny Lane.   These programs help provide services that a school the size of Sun Valley might not be able to provide for students.

The Educare program provides our students with a variety of after-school activities that provide enrichment, co-curricular classes, and fun activities.  After school tutoring is provided for days a week, some of the athletic programs and several clubs have faculty advisors and coaches that are able to enrich their program as a result of EduCare funds.  The program has been a great asset to not only student and staff but also to our school community.

Penny Lane Counseling Services currently works with at risk students who have been referred by staff and are Medi-Cal eligible.  Penny Lane provides our Sun Valley HS students with mental health counselors and peer mentoring programs.  They also provide students support with school and academic skills, substance use, and anti-social behavior.

Sun Valley High School's state of the art Parent Center is lead by Ms. Samantha Marron who serves as a liaison between school and home.  The parents center goal is to provide our Sun Valley parents with opportunities to increase their capacity thus helping their children at home. Parents also have the opportunity to attend coffee with the principal once a month to learn about current news within the school and how to help their children become college and career ready.

SVHS is lead by the vision of our Principal, Mr. Tadeo Climaco, Assistant Principals, Ms. Michelle Aragon and Mr. Edwin Lopez.
